Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)
Day 2 Sightseeing and trek preparation
Today is an extra day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and sightseeing. The day begins early, and you will visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, etc. In the afternoon, meet with the trek guide and get to know about the trail. You will re-check the gears and do final packing. If anything is missing, you will also go shopping.
Day 3 Drive to Pokhara (820m)
A beautiful drive along the countryside will take you to the city of lakes, Pokhara. There is also an option for flight if you want. Either way, the views will be phenomenal. The rest of the day in Pokhara is free for you. You can visit nearby tourist sites or relax near the tranquil Fewa Lake.
Day 4 Drive to Nayapul then trek to Tikhedhunga (1,480m)
After having a warm breakfast, drive to Nayapul. The drive is short and scenic. From Nayapul, you gradually ascend through off-road and reach Hile. The trail then passes by lush forest and terraced fields along a river towards Tikhedhunga.
Day 5 Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani via Ulleri (2,860m)
From Tikhedhunga, you steeply ascend to Ulleri, enjoying beautiful views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Hiunchuli, and Mt. Fishtail. The trail moves through a lovely forest of rhododendron and takes you to Nanghethani (2,460 m). Further, an hour walk from here leads to beautiful Ghorepani village from where stunning views of the western Himalayan mountains can be seen.
Day 6 Hike to Poonhill (3,210m) and trek to Tadapani (2,630m)
Wake up early and hike to Poon Hill. A very famous viewpoint in the Annapurna region to witness gorgeous sunrise along with the Himalayas. After spending some time at the viewpoint, you descend back to Ghorepani and continue trekking towards Tadapani. The trail goes through lush forests of rhododendron and oak. Enjoying superb views of mountains like Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, etc, you pass by fine villages to reach Tadapani.
Day 7 Tadapani to Chhomrong Village (2,170m)
The trail ascends to Ghandruk, a very famous village, and steeply descends to the Kimrong river. From here, you climb to Chhomrong, enjoying beautiful views of Annapurna South, Fishtail, etc.
Day 8 Chhomrong to Bamboo (2,310m)
Leaving Chhomrong behind, you will register your permit at the check-point and descend to a river. From here, walk uphill to Sinuwa and steeply descend towards Bamboo. As the trail passes by lush forests, you can see a diverse range of flora and birds along the way.
Day 9 Bamboo to Deurali (3,230m)
The trail from Bamboo climbs steeply through dense forest and takes you to Himalaya via Dovan. From here onwards, the route changes into alpine vegetation with fewer trees and snow patches. On the way, you can see many small rivers and tempting waterfalls.
Day 10 Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m)
Following a narrow gorge along Modi Khola Glacier valley, you pass by dense forests and Hinku Cave. The trail walks closely to Annapurna Glaciers and takes you to the base of the world's ninth highest mountain, Mt. Annapurna. Explore Annapurna Base Camp and get to see stunning views of several snow-capped mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Range, Tilicho Peak, Mt. Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Mt. Gangapurna, Paungde Danda, etc.
Day 11 Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,310m)
The trail leaves Annapurna Base Camp and retraces the path back to Bamboo. Leaving Modi Khola Valley behind, you trek through small settlement areas and lush forests to reach Bamboo.
Day 12 Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,760m)
The trail descends to a river and passes by dense forests. Following the Kimrong Khola, you ascend through lovely rhododendron, oka, and bamboo forest. Jhinu Danda is famous for its natural hot spring, where you can relax your sore muscles. However, you might have to pay a few extra bucks to enjoy this service.
Day 13 Jhinu Danda to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara (820m)
Today, the trail descends to Nayapul. You trek through dense forests and small villages. From Nayapul, you drive to Pokhara. Enjoy the rest of the relaxing and exploring vibrant Lakeside Market.
Day 14 Half day sightseeing in Pokhara
It is an extra day in Pokhara. Visit tourist sites like Davis Fall, Bat Cave, etc. Pokhara is also famous for thrilling adventures like paragliding, bungee jumping, mountain flight, hot air balloon ride, etc. If you want to do any of these activities then do let us know beforehand so that we can arrange it for you.
Day 15 Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara (flight is optional)
Drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will be long and presents gorgeous views of lush green hills, terraced fields, small villages, and waterfalls. Again, you have the option to take a short flight as well. In the evening, join the farewell dinner organized by the company. End the day by strolling on the bustling streets of Thamel and shopping souvenirs.
Day 16 Final departure
Your trip with us comes to an end. This is your last day in Kathmandu. As per your flight departure time, you leave for your home.
