Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake and Poon Hill Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

    Land at the Tribhuvan International Airport. One of our team representatives will welcome you at the airport and take you to the hotel. The remaining day is free to explore around the hotel. Later, in the evening, you will join a welcome dinner organized by the company and meet with other team members.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and trek preparation

    Today is an extra day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and sightseeing. The day begins early, and you will visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, etc. In the afternoon, meet with the trek guide and get to know about the trail. You will re-check the gears and do final packing. If anything is missing, you will also go shopping.

  • Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Syange (1,100m/3,608ft); 8-10 hrs

    Today, you drive to Syange. The drive is long, however beautiful views will keep you company throughout the drive. You will see rolling lush green hills, rivers, waterfalls, dense forest, terraced fields, and scattered settlement areas.

  • Day 4 Trek from Syange to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft); 7-8 hrs

    After having breakfast, you begin trekking towards Dharapani. The trail gradually ascends through small mountain villages and lush forests. Along the way, you can also see beautiful scenery and mountain views.

  • Day 5 Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft); 5-6 hrs

    From Dharapani, the trail goes through forests of pine, oak, fir, and maple. On the way, you can see tempting views of Annapurna II and Annapurna IV. Likewise, the trail also passes by hot springs, where you can take a small break.

  • Day 6 Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10,824ft); 5-6 hrs

    The trail gradually ascends through a steep narrow valley. Soon, you will see first views of the Puangda Danda rock face, a curved rock face rising 1,500 meters from a river. From here, you descend to the Manang Valley floor and move towards Pisang. You can see superb views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna II along the way.

  • Day 7 Pisang to Manang (3,500m/11,482ft); 6-7 hrs

    Leaving Pisang behind, you follow the upper Pisang route via Geru. The trail offers wonderful views of numerous Himalayan mountains like Annapurna Range, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, Mt. Gangapurna, etc. Further, you pass by Tibetan settlement areas and visit the ancient Barge monastery before reaching Manang village for a night stay.

  • Day 8 Acclimatization day

    Today is a rest day at Manang. Explore the village and hike to Gangapurna Lake. You will visit other nearby villages, caves, and ancient monasteries. This day is very important for the acclimatization of your body.

  • Day 9 Manang to Siri Kharka (4,060m/13,320ft); 4-5 hrs

    The trail descends to a river. Crossing the river, you trek through lush coniferous forests and reach Khangsar. The trail then ascends to Siri Kharka. You can see stunning views of Mt. Chulu and Gungang Himal on the way.

  • Day 10 Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp (4,140m/13,583ft); 5-6 hrs

    The trail passes by a landslide-prone area and climbs to Tilicho Base Camp. Enjoying unique rock formations and beautiful views of snow-capped mountains, you reach the base camp.

  • Day 11 Visit Tilicho Lake (4,949m/16,138ft) and trek back to Siri Kharka; 5-6 hrs

    Today, you wake up early. Following a steep trail, you reach Tilicho Lake. This lake is known as the second-highest lake in the world. You will get to see breath-taking views here. After spending some time exploring the lake, you descend to Siri Kharka for a night stay.

  • Day 12 Siri kharka to Yak kharka (4,040m/13,020ft); 4-5 hrs

    The trail drops down to Khangsar village. From here, pass by Tare Gumba (thousands-years old monastery) and descend to a bridge. Crossing the bridge, you ascend to Yak Kharka. You might get to see a snow-leopard along the way.

  • Day 13 Yak kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,420m/14,501ft); 3-4 hrs

    The trail ascends to Thorong Phedi from where amazing views of the surrounding mountains can be seen. From Yak Kharka, you steeply ascend relishing views of Thorong Peak, Mt. Khatungkan, Mt. Syagang, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Dhaulagiri, etc.

  • Day 14 Thorong Phedi to Thorong La pass (5,416m/17,764ft) to Muktinath (3,800/12,467ft); 7-8 hrs

    Today, you wake up early and move towards the top of Thorong La Pass. It is going to be a long and tough trekking day. The trail is steep and rugged. From the top of the pass, you can see heart-warming views of the Himalayan mountains. The trail then descends to Muktinath, a very important pilgrimage site.

  • Day 15 Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani (1,200m/3,937ft); 7-8 hrs

    After having a warm breakfast, you take a scenic ride to Tatopani. Driving along the deepest gorge in the world, Kali Gandaki Gorge, you pass by highlands and lush green forests to reach Tatopani. This village houses natural hot springs, which you can enjoy paying a few bucks.

  • Day 16 Tatopani to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,350ft); 7-8 hrs

    The trail from Tatopani ascends through Sikha village and Chitre village. Further, you pass by terraced fields and lush rhododendron forests to reach Ghorepani village. You can see beautiful views of mountains from this village.

  • Day 17 Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2,700m/8,860ft); 6-7 hrs

    Wake up early and hike to Poon Hill. A very famous viewpoint in the Annapurna region to witness gorgeous sunrise along with the Himalayas. After spending some time at the viewpoint, you descend back to Ghorepani and continue trekking towards Tadapani. The trail goes through lush forests of rhododendron and oak. Enjoying superb views of mountains like Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, etc, you pass by fine villages to reach Tadapani.

  • Day 18 Trek to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara; 5-6 hrs trek & 1 hr drive

    The trail descends to Nayapul through dense forests and small villages. From here, you drive to Pokhara. Enjoy the rest of the relaxing and exploring vibrant Lakeside Market and tranquil Fewa Lake.

  • Day 19 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu; 5-6 hrs

    Drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will be long and presents gorgeous views of lush green hills, terraced fields, small villages, and waterfalls. You also have the option to take a short flight as well. In the evening, join the farewell dinner organized by the company. End the day by strolling on the bustling streets of Thamel and shopping souvenirs.

  • Day 20 Final departure

    Your trip with us comes to an end. This is your last day in Kathmandu. As per your flight departure time, you leave for your home.
