Located at 5,000 meters, Gokyo Lake is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world. After reaching Lukla, you will begin descending towards Phakding village. From here, you will walk through lush forests and the Sagarmatha National Park entrance. Register your permit and begin ascending following a steep rocky path to the very famous Namche Bazar. The trail then moves towards Gokyo Valley above the Dudh Koshi River. Passing by the first, second, and third lakes, you will reach picturesque Gokyo village. Spend a couple of nights here and hike to Gokyo Ri before dropping down Namche Bazar. Further, you will follow the same trail back to Luka.
