Manaslu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

    After landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport, meet with our airport representative who will guide you to the hotel. check-in the hotel and rest for a few hours. Later, explore the vibrant streets of Thamel and join the team members over welcome dinner.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and trek preparation

    You will go on a guided sightseeing tour of tourist sites. Kathmandu is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, etc. You will visit as many places as you can during the tour. Later in the evening, you will have a small briefing about the trek from your trek leader. After that, prepare for the journey. Check all the gears and do the final packing.

  • Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola (710m); 8-9 hours

    After having a delicious breakfast, you begin a long drive that leads to Sotikhola, the starting point of the trek. The route offers beautiful views of the countryside, lush green hills, rivers, and terraced fields. You will reach Dhanding Bensi from where the road gets rough & bumpy up to Arughat. From here, you will drive further to Sotikhola.

  • Day 4 Soti Khola to Maccha Khola (900m); 6-7 hours

    Cross a bridge and walk through lush forests. The trail then ascends to a ridge and reaches Khursane. From here, you will be ascending and descending along a rugged & steep trail past two tropical waterfalls. The route will take you to Labubesi and ascend to a rocky outcrop. Further, drop down to a sandy river bed and continue walking along a rocky path. The trail climbs to the side of a ridge and drops down to the river. Cross a suspension bridge and reach Machha Khola for a night stay.

  • Day 5 Maccha Khola to Jagat (1,410m); 6-7 hours

    From Machha Khola, you will follow a narrow trail that ascends & descends, and crosses Tharo Khola to reach Kholabesi. From here, the trail gradually moves towards Tatopani, where you will spend some relaxing time in the natural hot springs.

    The trail then ascends to a ridge and crosses Budhi Gandaki river on a suspension bridge. Further, passing by a landslide-prone area, you reach Dobhan. Cross another suspension bridge over Yaru Khola, and drop down to Tharo Bharyang. The trail crosses the west bank of Budhi Gandaki and ascends to a ridge. You then walk along a river and reach Jagat.

  • Day 6 Jagat to Deng (1,804m); 6-7 hours

    The trail climbs to a rocky ridge to Salleri and drops down to Sirdibas. You will trek to Ghatta Khola and continue walking to a long suspension bridge that leads to Philim. From here, you turn north and cross the millet fields to Ekle Bhatti. Further, following a steep gorge, you descend to grassy land and cross Budhi Gandaki. Trek along the west bank and cross to the east bank, and then back again. The trail then passes through lush bamboo forests to Deng Khola and eventually leads to Deng village crossing the Khola.

  • Day 7 Deng to Namrung (2,630m); 6-7 hours

    Leaving Deng behind, you cross Budhi Gandaki river and ascend to Rana village (1,910 m). The trail ascends to Bhi and passes through lush forests & mani walls, and passes by Ghap and Prok village. You can see stunning views of Shringi Himal from Prok village. Further, you will cross the Budhi Gandaki river several times and trek through dense forests. The trail passes by a narrow gorge and steeply ascends to Namrung.

  • Day 8 Namrung to Samagaon (3,530m); 6-7 hours

    You can see wonderful views of Ganesh Himal, Mt. Himalchuli, and Shringi Himal from Namrung. The trail gradually ascends through dense forests and passes by Lihi, Sho, Lho, and Shyala villages. You can witness panoramic views of Mt. Manaslu, Peak 29, etc along the way. Likewise, you will visit Ribung Gompa in Lho village and trek towards Samagaon.

  • Day 9 Samagaon to Pungyen Gompa and return to Samagaon; 6-7 hours

    Today is a rest day in Samagaon. You will visit Pungyen Gompa situated on a nearby hill. The monastery offers stunning views of the glacier and surrounding snow-capped mountains. You will get to see rich Sherpa culture and local women doing their daily chores.

  • Day 10 Samagaon to Samdo (3,860m); 4-5 hours

    The trail from Samagaon drops down to Budhi Gandaki River and crosses a bridge over a side stream. You then pass by several mani walls, and the valley begins to widen. You will reach Kermo Kharka and cross the Budhi Gandaki river on a wooden bridge. Further, following a steep path ascend to Samdo.

  • Day 11 Rest Day in Samdo

    Another rest day that will help your body to acclimatize. There are two options for the hike today. You can either hike back to the Samdo village, up the valley that passes through an ancient trade route to Tibet and offers tempting views of many Himalayan mountains. Likewise, you will also see seasonal herding settlements and exotic mountain birds. Or, you can go on a trip to Gya La Pass, a large pass located north of Samdo, following another trade route to Tibet. However, this option involves a long walk and can get little tiring.

  • Day 12 Samdo to Dharamsala/Larkya Base Camp (4,460m); 4-5 hours

    Trekking along the edge of the hill, you descend and cross the Budhi Gandaki river on a wooden bridge. The trail from here ascends, crossing two more streams. You can see excellent views of Larkya Glacier on the way. The trail moves around the valley of Salka Khola and gradually ascends towards Larkya Pehdi, also known as Dharamsala.

  • Day 13 Dharamsala to Larkya La Pass (5,160m) to Bimthang (3,720m); 8-9 hours

    Today, you will be crossing Larkya La Pass. The trail ascends towards the north side of Larkya glaciers. Walking across the moraines of the glacier, you follow a steep path that leads to the top of Larkya Pass. From the top of the pass, you can see captivating views of Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Himlung, Mt. Annapurna II, and Mt. Kang Guru. The trail further descends to Bimtang for the night stay.

  • Day 14 Bimtang to Tilije (2,300m); 5-6 hours

    Bimtang offers fabulous views of Himlung Himal, Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung Himala, and other mountains. The trail today descends and crosses a high pasture called Sangure Kharka. You will then cross Dudh Khola and trek through the rhododendron forest to a narrow valley. The trail will take you to Karche (2,785 m) and steeply climbs to a ridge. Further, the trail drops down to a riverbank at 2,850 m and passes by Gho village before leading you to Tilije.

  • Day 15 Tilije to Chame (2,710m); 6-7 hours

    Today, the trail joins the Annapurna Circuit trail. Following a downhill path, you descend and cross a suspension bridge. The trail then ascends to Thocje village, and walking on a straight trail you reach Bagarchhap village. Further, trek through forests ridges and pass by numerous landslide-prone areas, enjoying stunning views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, etc.

  • Day 16 Chame to Pisang(3,700m); 5-6 hours

    From Chame, you follow a steep narrow path that goes through dense forests. On the way, you will come across a huge rock face rising 1,500 meters from the river. The trail further takes you to Pisang for the night stay.

  • Day 17 Pisang to Manang (3,500m); 4-5 hours

    Today, you will enter the upper Manang region. The views will get more beautiful and a cold & dry climate begins to appear. Likewise, the trail also offers breath-taking views of the Himalayan mountains along the way.

  • Day 18 Manang to Siri Kharka (4,060m); 4-5 hours

    The trail from Manang descends to a river and crosses the river. From here, you continue walking along the south side of the river and pass by lush coniferous forests to Khangsar. Further, ascend towards Siri Kharaka, enjoying fantastic views of Mt. Chulu and Gungang Himal.

  • Day 19 Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp (4,140m); 5-6 hours

    The trail from Siri Khara to the Tilicho Base Camp descends, passing by landslide-prone areas. It will be a dangerous walk today. The trail is not difficult but gets narrow along the way.

  • Day 20 Visit Tilicho Lake (4,949m) then back to Siri Kharka; 5-6 hours

    From the base camp, the route continues along moraine ridge and grassy slope. You will reach the watershed. Tilicho Lake is situated on the other side at the foot of Tilicho Peak. The view around the lake is phenomenal. This lake has religious importance for Hindus. After spending some time at the lake, you trek back to Siri Kharka to spend the night.

  • Day 21 Siri Kharka to Yak Kharka (4,040m); 4-5 hours

    The trail descends from Siri Kharka to Thare Gomba. Trekking on the left side of the trail, you reach old Khagsar, an isolated area. The trail from here follows a wall on the northside that takes you out of Khangsar. Further, the trail crosses a seasonal bridge over Thorang Khola valley and ascends to Yak Kharka.

  • Day 22 Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi: (4,420m); 3-4 hours

    The trail gradually ascends, crossing a suspension bridge. You will reach Ledar village and climb towards Thorong Phedi. You can see stunning views of Thorong Peak, Mt. Khatungkan, Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, etc from this place.

  • Day 23 Thorong Phedi to Muktinath and drive to Jomsom (2,743m); 8-9 hours trek & 1 hour

    The trail crosses challenging Thorong La Pass today. From Thorang Phedi, you ascend slowly following a steep rugged path to the top of the pass. Upon reaching the pass, you will see spectacular views of the Himalayan mountains. The trail then descends to the Muktinath temple. It is one of the most important temples of Hindus. From Muktinath, you drive to Jomsom along the Kali Gandaki River.

  • Day 24 Jomsom to Pokhara; 25 minutes by flight

    After having a warm breakfast, you take an early morning flight to Pokhara. During the flight, you can see aerial views of the western Himalayan mountains. It is a short flight, therefore you will reach Pokhara early and have a full day to explore & relax. Spend the evening around Phewa Lake, a beautiful calming lake famous for boating and sunsets.

  • Day 25 Pokhara to Kathmandu; 6 hours

    Drive to Kathmandu, enjoying the gorgeous landscape along the way. You can see pretty views of lush green rolling hills, waterfalls, rivers, terraced fields, and small settlement areas along the way. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you move to a hotel. The rest of the day is free for you. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner organized by Vyas Trek.
