Mardi Himal Trek Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

    Arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport and complete the visa process if you have not taken it from your home country. Our company representative will welcome you at the airport and take you to the hotel. The remaining day is leisure. Explore around and meet with other team members over a welcome dinner organized by the company.

  • Day 2-3 Sightseeing and trek preparation

    Today, you visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites and do the final packing for the trek. The day begins early. You meet with the tour guide in your hotel lobby and drive to tourist sites like Swayambhunath, Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, etc. Likewise, you meet with the trek guide and prepare for the trek. You will also do shopping if anything is missing.

  • Day 4 Drive to Pokhara and drive to Pothana (2,100m); 3-4 hours

    You will drive to Pokhara and continue towards Pothana today. The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara is scenic. You can see rolling lush green hills, rivers, terraced fields, small settlements along the way. Likewise, from Pokhara, you drive to Pothana via Phedi. The drive offers great views of Annapurna Range, mountain villages, and lush forests.

  • Day 5 Trek from Pothana to Forest Camp (2,500m); 5-6 hrs

    From Pothana, the trail steeply ascends to Forest Camp through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, birch, hemlock, etc. Along the way, you might get to see wildlife like the leopard, deer, monkey, birds, etc. This place is also known as Kokar.

  • Day 6 Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp (2,970m/9,504ft): 5-6 hrs

    The trail gradually ascends through mossy forests. Enjoying the beautiful morning view and fresh air, you trek through lush forests to reach Low Camp. From here, you can see superb views of Mt. Fishtail.

  • Day 7 Trek from Low Camp to High Camp (3,540m/11,328ft): 3-4 hrs

    Leaving Low Camp, the trail ascends to the High Camp. Along the way, you can see a glimpse of Mt. Hiunchuli and Annapurna South. The trail passes by rhododendron bushes and small settlement areas. Upon reaching High Camp, you get welcomed with stunning views of snow-capped mountains.

  • Day 8 Trek from High Camp to Upper Viewpoint (4,250m/13,600ft) and back to High Camp; 2-3 hrs

    Wake up early in the morning and hike to the Upper Viewpoint to witness breath-taking sunrise. This is the highest point of the Mardi Himal Trek and also known as the base camp of Mardi Himal. The trail gradually ascends through a steep and narrow path. After spending some time at the viewpoint, drop down to the High Camp for a night stay.

  • Day 9 Trek from High Camp to Siding Village (1,700m/5,440ft); 6-7 hrs

    The trail descends to Siding village, where you will get to see the unique lifestyle of the locals along with their rich culture and tradition. Most of the path involves descent through small settlement areas and dense forests. Passing by Low Camp and Forest Camp, you reach Siding village for a night stay.

  • Day 10 Trek Lumre and drive to Pokhara; 4-5 hrs

    Today, the trail further descends to Lumre. Trekking through Kalimati and Ghalel, you reach Lumre. From here onwards, you will drive to Pokhara. Spend the night exploring around gorgeous Phewa Lake and shopping in the Lakeside Market.

  • Day 11 Sightseeing tour in Pokhara

    It is an extra day in Kathmandu. You will visit tourist sites like Davis Fall, Bat Cave, World Peace Pagoda, etc. There are also options for adventure activities like paragliding, bungee jumping, hot air balloon ride, mountain flight, etc.

  • Day 12 Drive to Chitwan; 4 hrs

    After having breakfast, you will take a scenic drive to Chitwan. Later, in the day, you will visit Chitwan National Park and enjoy an elephant safari. Likewise, you will visit the elephant breeding center, where you can see baby elephants. In the evening, you will visit the indigenous Tharu village. The villagers will welcome you with traditional folk dance and offer you ancient assortments.

  • Day 13-14 Early Morning Bird watching and drive back to Kathmandu; 4-5 hrs

    Wake up early in the morning and go on a deep jungle walk. During the walk, you will come across many species of birds. After that, you will have breakfast and drive back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free. In the evening, join the farewell dinner organized by the company.

  • Day 15 Final departure

    The journey comes to an end. We will help you move to the airport as per your flight departure time.

    Your trip to Nepal ends today. You will be dropped off at the Airport by a company representative 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
